Overview Designed as an entry-level module, this course covers the basic, modern safety principles of risk assessment, duty of care and looks at specific areas of passenger safety. Aim - That drivers and passenger assistants provide the correct level of safety during routine and emergency situations for all passengers.
Objectives
- Carry out basic and informal risk assessments
- Understand the meaning and implications of ‘duty of care'
- Know about appropriate legislation and codes of practice
- Eliminate or reduce risks to passengers to an acceptable level
- Take correct action when faced with irresolvable risk
- Take correct action to ensure passenger safety when boarding, alighting and travelling
- Take correct action to ensure passenger safety in the event of road traffic collision, vehicle breakdown or vehicle fire
